Our Mission As Lions
To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.
Lions is an acronym for Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety.
The five pillars of the Lions organization:
Vision
Diabetes
Hunger
Cancer
Environment
Our motto is WE SERVE.
100% of the money raised by the Lions goes back to the community or charities.
We are the local chapter of Lions Clubs International, the largest service club organization in the world. 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs serve communities in 207 countries and geographical areas around the globe. Lions Club International was formed in 1917 by a Chicago business leader, Melvin Jones, who wondered what would happen if people put their talents to work improving their communities.
The Croton Lions Club has been philanthropically serving the Croton community since 1939. It has a long history of notable members, including mayors and politicians from our village.
